Functions of Communication
The function of communication is very essential in our everyday life in order to facilitate the exchange of information, ideas, thoughts, and feelings between individuals or even various groups.
Communication serves five important purposes, such as control and regulation, social interaction, motivation, information dissemination, and emotional expression.
CONTROL AND REGULATION
Control and regulation functions to regulate and control the behavior of a person or group of people.

House rules are essential for maintaining order, ensuring fairness, and promoting a harmonious environment in a household. They serve as guidelines that everyone in the home is expected to follow, including parents.

In verbal cues, the mother's tone of voice while discussing the house rules must be soft yet serious to put an impact on the daughter and obey the rules. While in non verbal cues, she can use a signboard or poster that can serve as reminders of the house rules.

Filipinos are known for being hospitable due to their innate compassion and empathy. They are naturally warm, friendly, and welcoming to both locals and foreigners alike.

When filipinos are welcoming a guest they usually greet them good morning/ afternoon/ evening first and asked "How are you?" or "It's been a long time!", moreover, they used a gestures like opening both of your arms almost like hugging them and sometimes they also do beso.

Wherever we go, every corner of the Philippines, there's always a group of friends that plays basketball due to the fact that it is the most known sport in our country. That's why, whenever the Philippines is competing in a world competition, there's always a group of people who supports them.
VERBAL AND NON VERBAL QUES:
These persons can show their support and motivate the players through shouting and saying "GO! KAYA NIYO YAN!" or "LABAN PILIPINAS, PUSO!", they also used hand gestures like thumbs up or raised fists.
INFORMATION DISSEMINATION
Information dissemination functions as a way to share information or data in order to educate.

FILIPINO CONTEXT OF FUNCTIONS:
The Philippines is prone to tropical cyclones due to its geographical location which generally produce heavy rains and flooding of large areas and also strong winds which result in heavy casualties to human life and destructions to crops and properties. PAGASA is the state weather agency of the philippines that is responsible for assessing and forecasting weather, flood, and other conditions essential to the safety and welfare of the people.

The weather specialist used scientific words to describe the storm but when he explained and discussed the condition of tropical cyclone, it is simple and very detailed that every people of the country can understand the meaning of it. He also used hand gestures, facial expressions and even presentation to convey the message and information to others.
EMOTIONAL EXPRESSION
Emotional expression functions as a way to connect to a person or people for the purpose of affecting them emotionally.
The best friend is actively listening while her friend is ranting/telling her concerns and personal problems.

Everyone trust their best friend to the fullest and that's why we can assure that our secrets, problems, concerns are safe with them. Sometimes, when telling concerns to someone special to us, there are times that we can't suppress our feeling and show it while ranting. By simply listening to some of our friends we can help tham a lot to decrease the heaviness they have in their hearts.
VERBAL AND NON VERBAL QUES:
By giving feedback such as "I feel you..." or something like that and saying it with a soothing voice, putting her arm to the back of her friend or holding her hand can greatly affect the communication.
Telling honest feedback is form of verbal ques while actively listening to concerns of her friend, hugging and other forms of physical contact to lessen the heaviness of the atmosphere are forms of non verbal ques.
